JISteel Factory Fused Silica Continuous Casting Submerged Entry Nozzle
The submerged nozzle is a refractory casing installed at the bottom of the tundish and inserted below the liquid level of the mould in the continuous casting equipment.
The submerged nozzle plays the role of protecting the molten steel from being oxidized by the ambient air when it flows into the mould from the tundish, and also plays the role of evenly distributing the molten steel into the mould and controlling the flow state of the molten steel in the mould. The submerged nozzle is well received by users for its excellent performance such as good slag resistance, anti-clogging, long life and low accident rate.
The basic requirements for the material of the submerged nozzle are good resistance to molten steel dissolution, strong resistance to slag erosion and good thermal shock resistance. The commonly used materials are fused silica and Al2O3-C.
